Don't be a cow

“When you are driven there is no room for patience.”
-Stephen Marshall

Have you ever seen a cowboy movie where they have a "cattle drive"? We as Sons & Daughters are never to be driven like cattle or fearful & anxiously motivated. We are little sheep and we are to be Led so we can Lead in the power of our true identity with focus, love, strength, confidence, wisdom, discernment and humility. Our works are the works of God in and thru us! We are Empowered & Infused with our true DNA!

Body and Mind I command you to rest in the Lord.  I will not be driven but I will be led by God's direction.  I will be focused and intentional but never driven.  I cast my cares on you Lord. I hear your voice, I understand and I quickly do your will.  Knowing I will be in your strength, calmness and peace because it is what you put in my hands and your works that I reherse and celebrate!  It is an honor to have you flow through me God and I posture myself with joy and thanksgiving for you to do that always.

My B2W Story

By Deanne Moore

I grew up in a home where academic and athletic standards were high. I was financially rewarded for A’s on my report card, but the single A- or B+ was the focal point of conversation when the report arrived. I was applauded for a good game, but there were times when harsh criticism damaged my soul to the point of wanting to do anything I could to prevent that kind of pain from happening again, especially when it came from the one to whom I was looking to validate my worth and find out who I was.

Improving my skills, accomplishing goals, and performing well became the mindset on which I based my value and identity . . . until the Holy Spirit introduced me to Jesus, who then introduced me to his Father, who became my Father, and I got to start life all over again.

It’s been a challenging journey of learning: learning to let go; learning to trust; learning boundaries; learning new values. And it’s been a wonderful journey of finding some amazing things: God’s love; His patience, kindness, and encouragement on my worst days; and His friendship. What an awesome God!

I look forward to the rest of the journey knowing who I am, whose I am, and that I was Born 2 Win!

"What you recognize and celebrate comes to you;
what you lightly esteem goes away from you"

What one may consider common will only provide them with a common benefit.  If we value something, we will come bearing a gift to what you value. The Queen of Sheba brought a huge amount of gifts to solomon because she valued the wisdom, understanding and level of wining that he had. (proverbs 4:7)

You have the precious gifts to bring to what you value:

Father God open my eyes to see around me everyday, your great gifts and value in people.  I command my eyes to recognize and celebrate and bring value to others who through you Jesus are born 2 win.

How Fashion Meets Faith

By Shari Braendel

When I was a little girl, my favorite pastime was heading to the nearest big city to spend the day shopping with my family. My parents allowed my sister and me to purchase one special item that we’d spend hours looking for. As a born fashionista, this was a dream come true and my memories of those days are still very clear in my mind.

Fast forward to these many years later and my heart still seems to beat just a little bit faster when I walk into a store filled with the latest trends, baubles and footwear but it’s especially satisfying if I have a friend or client with me who will let me put her in a dressing room while I bring her styles that are just right for her.

When I became a follower of Christ, I wasn’t sure what to do with my passion for fashion. I read the scripture verses about inner beauty and wondered if my Fashion Merchandising degree could ever be used in ministry. I doubted it. Should I put away my fascination with the world of style and stuff it into a secret corner of my mind and forget about it? Certainly God had better things for me to do, right?

I was spending time in prayer one day when I heard Lord speak quietly to my heart and tell me to take my message of outer beauty to women inside church walls. What, Lord? But, God, it’s about inner beauty in the church so how can I possibly tell them about outer beauty?

As I continued to pray the prompting got stronger and stronger. I gathered a few trustworthy friends to pray and intercede on my behalf and for seven years we prayed. One day into the seventh year a friend asked me to come and speak at her church women’s conference to share what I felt the Lord was leading me to share. And the rest is history!

Since 2005 I have been given the privilege of speaking at Christian Women’s Conferences and Churches all across America helping women see themselves the way God does; reminding them that God did NOT make a mistake with their bodies, that each woman is unique and fabulous exactly as she is. Thin or fluffy (it’s not fat anymore!), tall or short, we are made in His image.

I am so honored to have been invited to speak at the Pam Thum’s Born2Win Conference! My goal is to help each attendee see herself in a new way. I will be teaching wardrobe guidelines so each woman will learn the 3 Steps to dressing herself to gain confidence in her outer appearance. When a woman is self-assured in her appearance, she is then freed up to do what God has called her to do; which has stopped many of us from pursuing our dreams and passions. But don’t get me wrong, there’s a healthy dose of understanding how inner and outer beauty connect for Christian women and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Whether you love fashion, have little or no desire for it, or are just a little curious to how this plays out for Christian women, I know God has a message for you in it. Be prepared to see yourself in a whole new light! We are going to have FUN! – Shari Braendel

Are you Born 2 Win?

Everybody's made to win and succeed in life.

How do we define winning? In this world, some people are labeled as winners while their personal lives are a ruin of moral and emotional failure. This is not God’s idea of success. 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” God’s plan for your success is an intricate design that correlates with every aspect of your life for total advancement.

God paid the full price for you, making you a winner in Him. That makes it pretty basic from His point of view. You were born to win, and all the losing you’ve piled up in the backyard of your life can’t change that truth. You are Born 2 Win! Genesis 1:26 says, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.”

God is a winner and you are made in His image. He designed you to have authority and dominion. God designed you to win, and that’s why something inside you hates to lose. You weren’t made for it.

Look at Adam, the first man. When he sinned in Genesis chapter 3, he rebelled against God and brought spiritual death on himself, but it still took 930 years for him to die (Genesis 5:5). The curse, sin, and sickness are constantly acting like spiritual gravity pulling you to a losing stop.

That sinful nature you inherited from your ultra-great grand daddy Adam is working against your original design to be a winner.

Jesus said in John 3:3, “Unless a person is born again he cannot see or experience the Kingdom of God.”  The Kingdom of God is basically God’s way of doing things and being right. Winning! But, back in chapter 1:12 it says, “To as many as received Jesus, to them He gave the power to be the children of God.” Ha!
Just when the devil thought he broke Adam’s perfect design for all of eternity, God sent the second Adam, Jesus, and He bought us back our birthright. In Jesus, we have that winning spiritual DNA. If you’ve put your trust in Jesus, you have received a spiritual blood transfusion. Galatians 2:20 says, “It’s no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me.”

Saying that you’ve put your trust in God needs to be said with more than just a nonchalant attitude on your part. Proverbs 16:3 tells us to, “ Roll your works upon the Lord, commit and trust them wholly to Him: He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and so shall your plans be established and succeed.” Our trust in God should be so aggressive that, like a pilot light ignites a supply of gas, the power of God’s Spirit in us detonates with our agreement of His Word and …voila’…success. That is the word for God’s will for your life—“success.”

Humanity has had thousands of years to be deceived into accepting life under the curse as the norm. It is not the norm. Sin, sickness, failure, defeat, and death have nothing to do with what you were designed for. John 3:6 says, "What is born of the flesh is flesh: and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.” God is that Spirit, and so we know that if you’re born of Him, it’s Him in you. That is pure winning spiritual DNA.

Pray the Word
Lord, right now I commit to You all my projects, plans, and dreams. Everything that I’m working at, I bring under Your Lordship. I want to have Your thoughts and directions on all these matters. Your will be done in my life as Your will is done in heaven. Let all my works be directed by You, established by You, and let them succeed. Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen!
